This morning, some of my coworkers and I laced up our running shoes and ran a race to benefit the local Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation. Each of us work on the Pulmonary/Med-Surg unit at our hospital, so CF is something we deal with on a regular basis. Our hearts have all been touched, in some way, by the amazing people we care for who live with, and sometimes die by, this chronic disease. We wanted to show our love and support.
So we ran!
It was a small race. There were probably only 100 runners at most. The turn out wasn't half bad, though, considering the coordinators threw it together in a short span of time. This year was their first 5K of hopefully many to come to support research for Cystic Fibrosis.
Looking forward to doing it again next year!
