Today we had our second Girl Scout meeting of the year. We swore in our newest troop members (minus one) and awarded them with their first Junior's sash. We talked about the importance of treating their sashes with a sense of pride for they represent something far greater than the fabric, patches and pins that they are comprised of.
As a simple, 10 minute project to end the meeting with, the girls painted and be-dazzled some clothes pins and attached them to a small hanger to create a simple sash saver to place their sash on when it is not in use. Hopefully the girls will give their sashes the respect they deserve and remember to hang them up at the end of each meeting day.
